If you haven’t already heard … Gospel Bird (2017 E. Main Street in New Albany) will be closing soon. Stay tuned for further details.

Here’s the story, from earlier today at Facebook.

Hey everyone, this is Eric Morris, the owner of Gospel Bird. I have copied and pasted this from my personal page. Thank you so much for all of your support these past 3 years and we truly hope you’ll help us go out with a bang. I will set a proper closing date and make the announcement soon. MANY LOVE AND THANKS!! We are still open so please come see us and say hi!!

I’ve decided it’s in the best interest of my family in time of need, my children, my mental health, quality of life, and my staff, to simplify some things in my life.

I’ve begun the process of an exit plan to start winding down Gospel Bird and set an exact closing date.

It has been my baby for more than years from build out to this and though I had a great time and learned so much, some things in life far outweigh the grueling task that is running two full-service restaurants (the other is Hull & Highwater), two children, one of which is about to start high school, and now my own mother’s health.

She found out very abruptly with basically no warning signs that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has already unfortunately spread.

I cannot continue to have all of my life taken away by work and miss some of the most important things that one should truly value and I’ve paid the cost. Regaining focus and being there for my family is my Number 1 priority.

Thanks to each and every one of you for all of your support and friendships, new and old, throughout these past 3 years. 🤞♥️

Please try and make an effort to come visit Gospel Bird one last time and say hi!
